Miller competed on the football and track teams for the Purple Wave at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tennessee.
Miller signed up as a walk-on for the University of Memphis football team. He missed the 2013 and 2014 seasons due to injuries.
He participated in 12 games in 2015, starting four of them, and accumulating 47 receptions for 694 yards, five receiving touchdowns, and two rushing scores.
