Anthony Vincent Rizzo is a Major League Baseball first baseman who plays for the New York Yankees (MLB). Anthony previously played for the San Diego Padres and the Chicago Cubs in Major League Baseball.

Anthony is American by birth. He was born on August 8, 1989, in Parkland, Florida. However, his family has its origins in Italy, on the island of Sicily. Rizzo’s family comes from a small town called Ciminna.

Rizzo was drafted in the sixth round of the 2007 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox and went on to become a top minor league prospect in the Red Sox organisation.

After being traded to the Cubs in 2012, he developed into an All-Star player, appearing in three consecutive All-Star Games from 2014 to 2016, winning the Silver Slugger Award, Gold Glove Award, Roberto Clemente Award, and leading the Cubs to a World Series victory over the Cleveland Indians.
