Anthony Watson’s quickness and pace are what make his game unique. Rugby is still played in the family by his brother Marcus, who represented England Sevens before joining Newcastle Falcons in 2015 and transferring to Wasps in 2017.

He represented England at the U16 and U18 levels, and while at St. George’s College in Weybridge, he served as vice-captain. In November of that year, he made his debut on the sidelines against New Zealand at Twickenham. In that same month, he also made his right-wing debut against South Africa, Samoa, and Australia.

He was a last-minute addition to England’s Six Nations 2014 team. When he made his debut and scored a try for The British & Irish Lions in the inaugural tour match against the New Zealand Provincial Barbarians in Whangarei in 2017, he had accomplished his “ultimate aim.”

Three weeks later, he played in his first Lions Test match in Auckland against the All Blacks. He also started the other two games at Wellington and Eden Park. Anthony made England’s 2019 Rugby World Cup squad after overcoming a long-term injury, and he played a significant role in the team’s run to the championship.
