Hailing from Lucknow, he served as the Minister of Urban Development, Overall Urban Development, Urban Employment, and Poverty Alleviation in the state government, significantly influencing its progress.

Beginning as a representative for the Lucknow East constituency in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Tandon’s deep ties to the region fueled his commitment to addressing urban development, employment, and poverty.

Beyond politics, Tandon’s professional journey included a notable tenure as the Director of Union Bank of India from 2001 to 2006, integrating financial expertise into his governance approach.

His political prowess shone in various elections, notably securing victory in the 2014 assembly elections and the 2022 Legislative Assembly election, demonstrating enduring trust from the electorate.

Sadly, on November 9, 2023, Tandon passed away at 63 due to heart failure, leaving a significant void in Uttar Pradesh politics.
