With his recurrent role as Matthew, the persona of Judd Hirsch’s character, in the comedy series Dear John (1988), Ben Savage had his breakthrough on network television. Savage has dabbled in the world of TV movies in addition to his work on television. Notably, he costarred with Lindsay Wagner in She Woke Up (1992), and he played a young adolescent in McDonald’s Family Theatre Presents: Aliens for Breakfast (1995), in which his breakfast cereal figure comes to life and tells an exciting tale.
