Bernie Marsden, an English rock and blues musician, has reportedly passed away. Sources claim that bacterial meningitis, a serious infection that affects the membranes around the brain and spinal cord, was the cause of his death.

“We are very sad to announce Bernie Marsden’s passing on behalf of his family. On Thursday night, Bernie passed away quietly with his wife Fran and children Charlotte and Olivia by his side. Bernie never lost his love of writing, recording, and music until the very end, according to a written statement posted on social media by his family.

Bernie Marsden Cause of Death

He played his first professional engagement with UFO in 1972, then the following year with Glenn Cornick’s Wild Turkey before joining drummer Cozy Powell.

In 1975, Marsden joined Babe Ruth and performed on two Capitol Records albums, Stealin’ Home and Kid’s Stuff. Cozy Powell suggested him to Jon Lord during that time.

He was popular for a number of songs. Here I Go Again, Still of the Night, Fool for Your Loving, Love Ain’t No Stranger, Is This Love, Doctor Doctor, Belladonna, Rock Bottom, Slow An’ Easy, and more songs are a few of them.
