William Marshall Thomson was a goalkeeper for the Scottish national team. Thomson played for Partick Thistle, St Mirren, Dundee United, Clydebank, Motherwell, Rangers, and Dundee in his career. Thomson appeared in the 1987 UEFA Cup Final and two Scottish Cup Finals for Dundee United. Between 1980 and 1983, he earned seven full international caps for Scotland.
