Beathard served as general manager for two more NFL titles won by Washington in the 1980s and as director of player personnel for two NFL championships won by Miami in the 1970s.

He also served as a scout for Kansas City during the 1960s, when the Chiefs won the AFL championship and advanced to the Super Bowl, and as general manager for San Diego during the 1990s, when the Chargers did the same.

Bobby Beathard Cause Of Death

Beathard died in his home with his family, while it is yet unknown what caused his passing. Age-wise, he was 86.

During Washington’s prosperous run over 40 years ago, the illustrious Hall of Fame businessman served as the master orchestrator. Beathard spent his extensive front office career on seven teams that reached the Super Bowl, and he was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

Beathard was referred to as “one of the top judges of football skill in NFL history” by Chargers owner Dean Spanos in a statement.
