Bobby G. Wood was an American politician. Wood was born on September 21, 1935 and died on January 12, 2023. He was 87 years.

Wood was born in Fyffe, Alabama.

He lived in Harrison, Tennessee, with his wife and family, and was involved with the insurance business and the Chattanooga Glass Company.

In politics, Wood served in the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1976 to 2004 and was a Republican.

State Senator Bo Watson paid tribute to Wood, singling him out for his ability to work with Democrats.

In a statement, Senator Bo Watson said:

“Rep. Wood was beloved and respected by legislators on both sides of the aisle. He served his district in Hamilton County and the State of Tennessee with the highest honor.

“He was committed to his faith, his family, and his community. He lived a life of public service.

“They just don’t make them like Bobby Wood anymore. He set a high standard. Our prayers are with the family and the Harrison community.”

Wood died at his home in Harrison on January 12, 2023, at the age of 87.
