Brendan Leipsic is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Kathleen Leipsic and Greg Leipsic.

His mother, Kathleen, was a gymnast who competed for Canada as an alternate in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, while his father, Greg, was a high school running back.
Brendan Leipsic’s brother Jeremey won the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in scoring in 2016/17, after which he joined the University of Manitoba Bisons hockey team; he also has an international gymnast sister.
Leipsic was selected in the third round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators. He made his NHL debut with the Predators during the 2015-2016 season.

Throughout his career, Leipsic has also played for other NHL teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings, and Washington Capitals. While known for his offensive abilities and playmaking skills, Leipsic’s career has also been marked by controversy.
In May 2020, he was involved in a social media incident where inappropriate comments and remarks about various individuals, including his teammates, were leaked. As a result, the Washington Capitals terminated his contract, and Leipsic faced public criticism for his actions.
Since then, Leipsic has continued his hockey career in other professional leagues, such as the American Hockey League (AHL) and Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) where he currently plays.
