Brooks Laich is a retired professional ice hockey forward from Canada best known for being the husband of the American dancer, actress, and singer Julianne Alexandra Hough.

Evan Brooks Laich was born on June 23, 1983, in Wawota, Canada. He appeared in nearly 750 NHL games with four different clubs, including the Ottawa Senators, Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Los Angeles Kings.
During the 2000–01 season, Brooks Laich began his junior hockey career with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He appeared in 71 games for the Warriors, scoring nine goals.

In 2003, Brooks Laich made his professional debut with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL). On February 3, 2003, he made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut with the Senators against the New Jersey Devils.
Following his retirement from playing Hockey, Brooks Laich co-hosts a podcast with singer Gavin DeGraw. He is also the owner of Open Gym.
