He was born Michael Scott Moser on May 3, 1957, in Montrose, Colorado, United States.

Cactus is a three-time Modern Drummer readers poll winner, Four-time CMA winner and 3 time Grammy Award nominee.

Remarkably, the 64-year-old Moser has been a member of the highly successful, Grammy Nominated band Highway 101 for over 20 years.

Cactus Moser is married to Wynonna Judd.

Cactus Moser Accident: What caused Cactus Moser accident?

On August 18, 2012, Cactus Moser was severely injured in a motorcycle crash in Deadwood, South Dakota.

He was on U.S. Route 16 in the Black Hills when he crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming car.

Despite making it to the hospital, the drummer nearly died when he stopped breathing the next day and had to undergo extensive surgery on his left hand and his left leg which was amputated above the knee.

However, he beat all odds and continued to work as a musician and record producer in the studio, and on the road.
