Being one of the top players in MLB, Cal Raleig has made a name for himself. Jarred Kelenic, a fellow Marine, and he are close buddies. Raleigh’s moniker, “The Big Dumper,” was given to him by Kelenic. The moniker refers to Raleigh’s propensity for crushing enormous clutch home runs for his squad. His teammates on the Mariners think that his prominent posterior aids in his ability to blast enormous clutch home runs while he is on the field. He has become somewhat of a folk hero among the Mariners because to this amusing moniker.

Raleigh did not like the moniker “The Big Dumper” at first. Yet with time, he came to like the moniker; today, he even refers to himself as “Big Dumper” on the back of his uniform. Several Mariners supporters can be seen sporting jerseys with dump trucks and the Mariners emblem, proving that the term has persisted with them.
