Former Oklahoma assistant football coach, Cale Gundy, resigned because he recognised that his anti-racial speech was wrong.

Gundy had on several occasions, read aloud to his players, racially charged words that is against the values of the Oklahoma University’s football program.
Gundy has been the longest-serving football coach in the Big 12, after spending 16 years as an assistant coach.
Alot of players reacted negatively to his resignation, adding that he would be missed.
Gundy had defended his actions by saying he picked up the iPad of a player who was distracted instead of taking notes in a class, and had read the words on the screen.

“The unfortunate reality is that someone in my position can cause harm without ever meaning to do so,” Gundy said in a statement.

“In that circumstance, a man of character accepts accountability. I take responsibility for this mistake. I apologize”, he added
“I want to be very clear: the words I read aloud from that screen were not my words. What I said was not malicious; it wasn’t even intentional,” Gundy added.
