Can Michelle Yeoh speak Malay?

Michelle Yeoh Choo Kheng, PSM is a Malaysian actress.

Yeoh began ballet dancing at age 4 and moved to London at age 15 with her parents to study at the Royal Academy of Dance in London. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance from the Royal Academy of Dance.

After a brief dance career, Yeoh won the Miss Malaysia beauty pageant title and the Miss Moomba beauty pageant title in Melbourne, Australia in the early 1980s.

Michelle Yeoh rose to prominence in the 1990s after appearing in a series of Hong Kong action films where she performed her own stunts, such as Yes, Madam (1985).

Yeoh has starred in numerous movies and tv shows including Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2003), Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), Final Recipe (2013), Mechanic: Resurrection (2016), Crazy Rich Asians (2018), Last Christmas (2019), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), and many others.

She has her own production company, Mythical Films.

She speaks three (3) languages which are  English, Malay and Cantonese.
