Fogarty, a 1990 TT champion, made his Ducati debut in 1992 and won his opening race at Donington with the 888 of the independent English team Moto Cinelli.
Possibly the greatest British motorcycle rider ever was Carl Fogarty. Of his 72 race wins, 59 were in World Superbikes (where he won four world championships), 7 were in Formula 1 TT, and for even more variety, Carl also won five World Endurance races and an unofficial Macau Grand Prix.
In July 1965, Carl Fogarty was born in Blackburn. As a four-time Superbike World Champion, he is revered by countless motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide. The injury ended his track racing career in 2000, but since then he has provided commentary for BBC World Superbike and now serves as team manager for his World Superbike squad, Foggy Petronas.
