The American sportscaster and former collegiate basketball coach Carolyn Arlene Peck was born on January 22, 1966. She served as the women’s basketball team’s head coach at Purdue University and the University of Florida. She was also the first head coach-general manager in the history of the Orlando Miracle of the WNBA. Peck also served as an assistant head coach at her alma mater, Vanderbilt University.

1993 saw the start of Peck’s coaching career. After two seasons away, she went back to her native state to work as Pat Summitt’s assistant coach with the Tennessee Lady Vols. Both seasons, 31-2 in 1993–94 and 34–3 in 1994–95, the Lady Vols finished with 30-win seasons and captured the Southeastern Conference title.
