Ravi Babu is the son of actor Chalapathi Rao.

Ravi Babu is an actor, director, writer and producer in the Telugu film industry.

He was born in Poranki in Andhra Pradesh to Chalapathi Rao and Indumaty Rao.

Babu earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in Pune.

After graduating, he worked as an apprentice to noted Advertisement and Film-maker Rajiv Menon for a year before moving to the United States.

He then enrolled at the Film and Television Workshops in Rockport, Maine but quit shortly because he found the curriculum too rudimentary.

Babu subsequently attended the Sony Institute in San Jose, California for a course in digital online editing.

Following a stint at the now-defunct India Broadcasting Network in New York and TV Asia as a cameraman, editor, program producer and director, he returned to India.

In 1999, he established his production house, Flying Frogs. He has since written and directed 15 films and starred in over 75 films such as Crrush (2021), Aaviri (2019) Thanu Nenu (2015), Adhugo (2018), Laddu Babu (2014, Avunu (2012), Behind Someone (2022), Trivikraman (2016), Meda Meeda Abbayi (2017), et al.

Ravi Babu is married to Tanuja Ravi and they have two children.
