Dr Charles Frazier Stanley passed away peacefully a the age of 90 at his home on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

The church released a statement on Stanley’s death, saying: “Our hearts are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Charles Stanley. ”

“In this time of loss, we are comforted in knowing that his faith has now become sight. The glories of heaven are now his, a reality he taught us and millions of others around the world throughout his years of faithful preaching.”
During his tenure at First Baptist Church, Stanley became known for his passionate preaching and Bible teaching, which attracted thousands of followers.
Charles Stanley was also a prolific writer, having authored more than 70 books on various Christian topics, including spiritual growth, prayer, faith, and Christian living. His most popular books include “The Blessings of Brokenness,” “How to Listen to God,” “Success God’s Way,” and “When the Enemy Strikes.”
Charles Stanley is survived by two children, his daughter Becky and son Andy, who is the founder and senior pastor at Northpoint Ministries. Andy called his dad a role model for pastors.
