The incident took place on Saturday, March 30, when Rice was in a Lamborghini that was reportedly racing a Corvette owned by a friend on the North Central Expressway in Dallas around 6:20 p.m.

The collision, which involved wrecking the Lamborghini, resulted in a significant impact, affecting multiple vehicles.

TMZ reports that Rice texted The Classic Lifestyle, the company that owns the Lamborghini he leases, to acknowledge his involvement in the crash.

Rice was the sole authorized driver of the vehicle, according to an attorney for Classic Lifestyle.

The crash, initiated by the loss of control of both the Lamborghini and the Corvette, led to a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles, as per a police spokeswoman cited by the Dallas Morning News.

While two individuals were treated at the scene, two others were transported to the hospital, fortunately with no serious injuries reported.

Rice is reportedly cooperating with authorities, as confirmed by his attorney, Royce West, who stated, “Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly,” in a statement to ESPN.

The Chiefs and the NFL are also conducting investigations into the matter. Team president Mark Donovan addressed the situation, highlighting the importance of gathering all the facts before making any determinations.

Rice, aged 23, had an impressive rookie season in 2023, playing in 16 games and making significant contributions to the team’s success. His performance included 79 catches for 938 yards with seven touchdowns, further solidifying his role as a key player for the Chiefs.
