Chris Dawson Ex-Wife: Who is Joanne Curtis?

Joanne Curtis was the second wife of Christopher Michael Dawson an Australian convicted murderer and former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s.

Joanne Curtis, a Cromer High student, was only 16 years old when Chris Dawson began grooming her.

Chris moved Joanne into the family home just a few days after his first wife Lyn went missing in 1982, and the couple married in January 1984.

Joanne and Chris have a daughter together. The couple divorced in the late 1980s.

After divorcing Chris Dawson, Joanne moved back to Sydney and urged police to search his old garden for his first wife Lynette’s body.

Mrs Lynette Dawson’s pink cardigan is discovered during a police dig on the family’s former Bayview property.

In 2001 and 2003, two coroners determine that Mrs Dawson was murdered by a ‘known person,’ Chris Dawson, but he is not charged.

In December 2018, Dawson was arrested and charged with murder. His trial in the NSW Supreme Court began on May 9, 2022. On August 30, 2022, Dawson was found guilty of Lynette’s murder.
