She has three European Athletics Championship medals from events including bronze in 2016, silver in 2022, and bronze in 2019. Mageean also won silver at the Commonwealth Games in 2022.

Ciara Mageean won three silver medals at the World and European Under-18 and U20 levels. Mageean represented Ireland at the 2016 Rio Olympics as well as the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She holds four Irish records.
Mageean finished fourth in the final of the 2023 World Athletics Championships – Women’s 1500 metres in August 2023. Mageean received a UCD Ad Astra Elite Athlete Scholarship and earned a BSc in Physiotherapy from University College Dublin in 2017.
