American football outside linebacker Clark Haggans (January 10, 1977–approximately June 18, 2023) was born. In the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected him. At Colorado State, he was a defensive end for the football team. From 2000 to 2012, Haggans participated in NFL games with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers.

Haggans won a Super Bowl ring playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL. In the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, the Steelers selected Haggans. In 2004, when the organization let go of longtime starter Jason Gildon, he started to play regularly at left outside linebacker.

When the Steelers won the championship in 2005, he had his best season as a pass rusher, recording nine sacks, 61 tackles, and seven tackles for loss. During the postseason run, he added another 1.5 sacks, 18 tackles, and two tackles for loss, including one sack and five tackles in Super Bowl XL.
