Joseph Todd Peterson (born February 4, 1970) is a retired American football placekicker. He was drafted by the New York Giants from the University of Georgia with the ninth pick of the seventh round (177th overall) in the 1993 NFL Draft.

Clayton Peterson is Michael Peterson’s oldest son from his first marriage to Patricia Sue, while Todd Peterson is his younger son.

According to Metro.US, Clayton was sentenced to four years in jail for a failed attempt to firebomb the Duke University Administration Building.
During his father’s trial, he stood by his father and extended his jail term. His first son Dorian sees Michael in jail as a baby, as seen in the Netflix documentary The Staircase, and his wife Becky is seen pregnant with their second kid, Lucien, after the program.
Clayton resides in Maryland with his two children. Dane DeHaan, well known for his portrayal as Harry Osborn/Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, plays Clayton Peterson
