In an interview with CBC, his father stated that Connor used to stand in front of the TV and mimic the positions of ice hockey players. He was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the fifth round, 130th overall, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Hellebuyck currently plays for the Winnipeg Jets in the National Hockey League (NHL). He made his NHL debut during the 2015-2016 season and has been the Jets’ starting goaltender since then.
