Pullen was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1974. He attended the University of Southern California, where he studied film production. After graduating, he worked as a production assistant on several films and television shows.
In 2005, Pullen co-wrote and produced the short film “The 5th Beatle,” which starred Summer. The film was well-received, and it led to Pullen being hired as a producer on the television series “Everybody Hates Chris.”

Summer is a vocal advocate for social justice. She has spoken out against racism, sexism, and homophobia. She is also a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement.
