David Kämpf is a Czech professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born in Jirkov, Czech Republic.

The names of his parents and what they do is not public knowledge. Kämpf went undrafted and began playing at the under-16 level for local club Piráti Chomutov in 2009. During the 2012-13 season, he made his senior professional debut with Chomutov in the Czech Extraliga.
He signed with the Chicago Blackhawks as an undrafted free agent in May 2017. He made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks during the 2017-2018 season and scored his first NHL goal in a 2-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on January 12, 2018.

Kämpf agreed to terms with the Toronto Maple Leafs on a two-year, $3 million contract as a free agent after four seasons with the Blackhawks.
Following a productive two seasons with the Maple Leafs, Kämpf chose to remain in Toronto as a pending free agent, signing a four-year, $9.6 million contract extension on June 28, 2023.
