Deputy Attorney-General Alfred Tuah Yeboah added that whether Mr. Dame will cross-examine the third accused, Richard Jakpa, despite the trial judge advising him to recuse himself, will be determined by the conclusion of the court proceedings.

When asked why Mr. Dame was in court to observe proceedings on Tuesday, Mr. Tuah Yeboah told journalists, “He reserves the right to be in court just like you, as to whether he will conduct the case unless himself says. ”

When asked again why Mr. Dame dictated questions to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Yvonne Atakorah Obuobisa, during the cross-examination of Jakpa, he responded: “He wasn’t dictating questions to the DPP to ask … he came to court to observe proceedings, wait until the end of proceedings, if he will come you will know, if he won’t you will know.”

Mr. Tuah Yeboah also commented that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Yvonne Atakorah Obuobisa, performed admirably in her cross-examination of Richard Jakpa.

He dismissed claims that Madam Obuobisa was frustrated during the cross-examination on Tuesday, June 18.

When journalists pointed out to him after Tuesday’s proceedings that the prosecutor seemed frustrated with the answers Richard Jakpa was giving, he responded, “She was not frustrated, she did a yeoman’s job.”

During the ambulance procurement trial on Tuesday, June 18, the prosecution informed an Accra High Court that Richard Jakpa initially contacted Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame, contrary to the businessman’s testimony that it was the other way around.
