Diamond Miller was raised in Montclair, New Jersey, by her family. She grew up playing basketball with her siblings.
Her father, Lance, was a Villanova basketball player, and her mother, Dreana, is an Elite Team Miller assistant coach.
Diamond stated that her father is her greatest influence because he has trained her since she was a child. Lance, her father, coached her in the Amateur Athletic Union for Team Miller Lightning.

Diamond’s father Lance previously spent nine years as a professional basketball player for Villanova University.
He graduated from Bridgewater Raritan High School and went on to Villanova University. In February 2011, the Villanova Varsity Club honoured him for his outstanding basketball career by inducting him into the Villanova Hall of Fame.
Lance is a four-time Villanova career leader in four different categories. During his college career, he was named to the 1992 second-team All-BIG EAST.
Diamond Miller’s two sisters have played college basketball: Adreana at La Salle and Ohio State, and LaNiya at Stony Brook and Wagner.
