American actress, Diane Ladd lost her first daughter, Diane Elizabeth Dern when she was only 18 months. She died due to injuries sustained when she drowned in a swimming pool. She was born on November 29, 160, and died on May 18, 1962.

Born on November 29, 1935, Ladd began her career when she made her Broadway debut in Carry Me Back to Morningside Heights in 1968. She also appeared in A Texas Trilogy: Lu Ann Hampton Laverty Oberlander.

She joined the cast of the CBS soap opera The Secret Storm in 1971. She was the second actress to play the role of Kitty Styles on the long-running daytime serial.
Ladd later had a supporting role in Roman Polanski’s Chinatown in 1974. She bagged a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role as Flo in the film Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. She received a Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 1, 2010. She also starred in the Hallmark Channel series Chesapeake Shores.
