Mel Brooks will never forget the late Anne Bancroft, an actress.

The 95-year-old comedian talks about his long film career, his marriage to “The Graduate” star, and his Brooklyn upbringing in his upcoming biography, “All About Me!”

The “Blazing Saddles” director recalled Bancroft’s advice in an interview with People before the book was published.

Max was born to Brooks and Bancroft in 1972 after their 1964 wedding. Up to the actress’s uterine cancer-related death in 2005, the couple remained married.

Maximillian Michael Brooks, an American actor and author born on May 22, 1972, is the name of the couple’s son. Born to the comedian Mel Brooks and the actress Anne Bancroft. The majority of Brooks’ writing consists of zombie tales. He has a senior fellow position at West Point’s Modern War Institute.

From 1964 until her passing in 2005, Anne Bancroft and Brooks were wed. Known for his book World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, their son Max Brooks is both an actor and an author (2006).

Mel Brooks released a memoir titled All About Me in 2021. Blazing Saddles, The Producers, and Young Frankenstein were all listed among the greatest 15 comedies of the previous 100 years (1900–2000) by the American Film Institute. Blazing Saddles was placed sixth, The Producers was ranked eleventh, and Young Frankenstein was ranked thirteenth.
