Moreira first achieved success while playing for Standard Liege, the team his father represented up until 2006. He attempted to leave the club in 2019 for personal reasons and trained with Lierse Kempenzonen.
The Belgian Federation, however, objected to his behavior. He ultimately signed a contract with Benfica in August 2020 after leaving Standard Liege. He signed his first professional deal with the club with headquarters in Lisbon, where his father resided.
