Tom Ellis is married to American screenwriter Meaghan Oppenheimer. The couple got married in 2019.

Meaghan Oppenheimer is a television and film screenwriter and producer from the United States. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a former child actor who appeared in several regional theatre productions and television shows.

In 2009, she graduated from Holland Hall and then from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a screenwriter.  Carola Lovering’s Tell Me Lies will be adapted for Hulu by Oppenheimer.

Welsh actor Thomas John Ellis is best known for his roles in the Netflix urban fantasy series Lucifer and its Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover appearance in the Arrowverse franchise, Gary Preston in the BBC One sitcom Miranda, Hollywood doctor William P. Rush in the USA Network series Rush, and Mark Etches in the supernatural drama series The Fades.
