Brunson was the first person to win $1 million in a poker tournament. He has ten WSOP bracelets to his name, tied with Johnny Chan and Phil Ivey for second all-time behind Phil Hellmuth’s sixteen. He is also one of just four players to have won the World Series of Poker Main Event twice, in 1976 and 1977.

The American poker expert and his lovely wife Louise Brunson have three children: Todd Alan Brunson, Pamela Brunson, and Doyla Brunson (late).

Doyla, their daughter, was diagnosed with scoliosis in 1975, yet her spine straightened up completely in just three months. She died at the age of 18 from a heart valve disease.

Todd and Pamela, the couple’s son and daughter, appear to be following in their father’s footsteps in the poker profession. Furthermore, Pamela, the player’s daughter, competed in both the 2007 and 2009 World Series of Poker main events, defeating Todd and Doyle both times.
