Diego Ferrari is Emily’s husband. While working at Alain Ducasse’s Le Louis XV restaurant in Monaco, she met Diego. They had their first kid, a son, last year.

Diego was born in Milan and began working in his neighbourhood “ristorante” when he was 14 years old.
At the age of 20, he decided to relocate to Paris, acquire a new language, and pursue a culinary career under the tutelage of the legendary Alain Ducasse.

Diego worked as the Head Chef of Le Gavroche for three years before launching this business with his wife Emily.

They resided in Paris before moving to London. Emily and her husband Diego own and operate the restaurant Caractère, which they founded together. The food focuses on simple and delicious French and Italian dishes, stemming from both chefs’ heritage and expertise.
Emily Roux is Michel and Giselle Roux’s daughter. She studied at Lyon’s Institut Paul Bocuse before travelling to Paris to work at the Michelin-starred restaurant Akrame.
