Eric R Holder Jr, the man who was arrested for killing American rapper, Nipsey Hussle, has been found guilty and sentenced to 60 years in prison for first-degree murder. Holder shot Hussle multiple times in a parking lot in Los Angeles in March 2019. Two bystanders were also hit and injured during the shooting.

On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, Supreme Court Judge, H. Clay Jacke announced the 60-year sentence of Holder after hearing from one of Hussle’s friends as well as reading a letter from Holder’s father.

Holder was not eligible for the death penalty and was mainly expected to receive a life sentence. However, his attorney shared that he planned to appeal the verdict.
“It was always going to be through given the high-profile circumstances surrounding the case,” his Attorney Aaron Jansen said.
During the initial stages of the case, they argued that Holder’s crime was influenced by unstable mental conditions which fueled his anger and led him to commit such a crime, however, it was scrapped by the court.
