Holder was not eligible for the death penalty and was mainly expected to receive a life sentence. However, his attorney shared that he planned to appeal the verdict.

It was always going to be through given the high-profile circumstances surrounding the case,” his Attorney Aaron Jansen said.

During the initial stages of the case, they argued that Holder’s crime was influenced by unstable mental conditions which fueled his anger and led him to commit such a crime, however, it was scrapped by the court.
