Esta TerBlanche, the acclaimed South African actress renowned for her role in the popular soap opera “All My Children,” has passed away at the age of 51. She died on Thursday in Los Angeles, with the news confirmed by her publicist, Lisa Rodrigo. The cause of death is yet to be determined, pending an autopsy report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Born on January 7, 1973, in Rustenburg, South Africa, Terblanche had a vibrant career that began when she was just 16 years old. She first captivated audiences as the host of a children’s television show called “K-T.V.” and a math program titled “Math No Problem.” Her charm and talent were undeniable, leading her to be crowned Miss Teen South Africa in 1991.

TerBlanche’s international acclaim came from her portrayal of Gillian Andrassy in “All My Children” from 1997 to 2001. Her character, a Hungarian princess, was central to a beloved enemies-to-lovers storyline with Ryan Lavery, played by Cameron Mathison. The chemistry between the two characters made them fan favourites during her time on the show.
