F1 Crash Today: Zhou Guanyu’s car flips over tire barrier

According to reports in the media, the ongoing British Grand Prix was suspended due to two significant collisions involving many drivers.

At Silverstone, red flags were deployed after Zhou Guanyu’s Alpha Romeo overturned a tire barrier at Turn 1.

Multiple drivers were involved in the crash, which caused two significant collisions, which caused Zhou’s Alpha Romeo to roll across the run-off area before flipping off the barriers. Thankfully, nobody suffered serious injuries.

According to a replay that was broadcast on ESPN, Pierre Gasly was squeezed in between George Russell and Zhou Guanyu at the time of the collision.

Russell’s Mercedes was consequently thrown into Zhou’s Alpha Romeo, resulting in a terrible collision.

Zhou claims that during the harrowing first lap at Silverstone, the Formula One halo cockpit safety equipment significantly contributed to preserving his life.

In addition, Charles Leclerc was spared a serious injury during the Belgian Grand Prix in 2018, the same year Halo was unveiled.

Sebastian Vettel slammed into the rear of the Williams after Alex Albon, the Williams Racing driver, slapped the brakes following Zhou’s disastrous slide.

Alex was thrown against the pit wall by the collision, and after bouncing back onto the track, he struck Esteban Ocon and Yuki Tsunoda.

Esteban and Yuki were able to carry on, but Zhou and Alex had to be taken to the hospital immediately on stretchers even though they were both conscious.
