Firoza Hossain is well-known for being the wife of Moeen Ali.  Ali made his first-class cricket debut in 2005, playing in a game against Cambridge University in May. He played one innings of unbeaten batting, scoring 57 runs, and bowled two overs, giving up 15 runs.

Later that summer, he played admirably against the Sri Lankan Under-19 squad, scoring 100 unassisted points in the final “Test” game and 52 unassisted points in the first.

He needed just 56 balls to reach this century, and he also claimed 7 wickets. As a result, he was chosen for the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka, when coach Andy Pick named him the team captain. Ali amassed three half-centuries and seven wickets during the competition.
