Flora Robson was an English actress and star of the theater, screen, and radio who was born on March 28, 1902, and died on July 7, 1984. She is well known for her work in plays that need a high level of drama and emotion. From kings to murderesses, she covered them all.

1921 marked Robson’s first performance on stage. During the 1930s, she was starring in a number of well-known movies both in the UK and in Hollywood, alongside actors like Laurence Olivier, Paul Muni, and George Raft. In the movies The Sea Hawk and Fire Over England (1937), she played Queen Elizabeth I, which is her most well-known performance (1940).
She kept doing television and cinema acting. In 1981’s fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans, she last made an appearance as a Stygian Witch.

Flora Robson, 82, passed away from cancer while sleeping in Brighton. She never got married and never had kids.
The 1962 construction of Dame Flora Robson Avenue in Simonside, South Shields, bears her name.
There is a plaque on the residence in Wykeham Terrace, Dyke Road, Brighton, as well as one on the entrance to St. Nicholas’s Church, a place Flora Robson devoted a lot of time and energy to.
