Despite this advantage, Austria’s physical play significantly limited France’s scoring opportunities. Mbappé was a constant threat, forcing Austrian keeper Patrick Pentz into a crucial save within the first ten minutes.
In the second half, Mbappé again came close to extending France’s lead, narrowly missing after weaving through several defenders.
The game took a worrying turn when Mbappé clashed heads with Austria’s Kevin Danso, resulting in a possible broken nose for the French forward.
Despite the injury, Kylian Mbappé managed to walk off the field unaided, providing some relief to his club, Real Madrid.
