McReight made his international debut against New Zealand in the second round of the 2020 Tri Nations Series (a restructured Rugby Championship owing to COVID-19) after Harry Wilson (rugby union) was substituted off in the 67th minute of the game, which the Wallabies defeated 43 to 5.

McReight scored his first test try in round one of the 2021/22 Rugby Championship against Argentina.
