Frederick Edmund VanVleet Sr. is a professional basketball player from the United States who currently plays for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). VanVleet, a point guard, attended Wichita State University before entering the NBA.

VanVleet helped elevate Wichita State Shockers basketball during his college career. He was a member of the Shockers’ Final Four squad in 2012-13 and the undefeated regular season team in 2013-14.
As a result, VanVleet was named a 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball All-American by many media publications. During the 2014-15 season, he was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference first team and garnered an honorable mention as an All-American by the Associated Press.
VanVleet went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft but signed with the Toronto Raptors later that year. He spent his debut season with the Raptors and their G League club, Raptors 905, and was instrumental in Raptors 905 winning the championship in 2017.

He later became an indispensable member of the Raptors, contributing significantly to their 2019 NBA championship victory.
VanVleet set a new single-game scoring mark for the Raptors and any undrafted NBA player in 2021, scoring 54 points against Orlando. In 2022, he also made his first NBA All-Star Game appearance.
