Fubara Administers Oath to Caretaker Chairmen After Lawmakers’ Confirmation

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has sworn in new caretaker chairpersons for 23 local government areas.

The ceremony occurred on Wednesday, June 19, at the Government House in Port Harcourt, amid tight security.

It was reported that the first group of 11 chairmen took their oaths of office.

This event took place the day after Governor Fubara submitted the list of nominees to the State House of Assembly, led by factional Speaker Victor Jumbo.

The lawmakers had summoned the nominees for screening, commencing at 8 am on Wednesday, June 19th.
