Fuzzy Haskins was born in Elkins, West Virginia. He was a founding member of the groundbreaking and influential 1970s funk bands Parliament and Funkadelic, also known as Parliament-Funkadelic, and performed with The Parliaments in the 1950s and 1960s.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, along with fifteen other members of Parliament-Funkadelic. He and Parliament-Funkadelic received Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2019.
Fuzzy Haskins began a solo career in the late 1970s, releasing his albums A Whole Nother Thang in 1976 and Radio Active in 1978. Haskins later joined an ’80s-era Funkadelic revival with some of his former bandmates. However, the singer soon found a new calling as a preacher and began recording gospel music.
