George P. Wilbur, a well-known stuntman and actor in Hollywood, passed away this past Wednesday at the age of 81. Wilbur had a more than 60-year career, but the actor will be best known for his various horror-related roles.

Especially in the films Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers from 1988 and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers from 1995 as Michael Myers. The return of Michael Myers, a fan favorite in the cherished slasher franchise, made Wilbur one of the best actors to ever don the famous white mask in the eyes of many fans.

George P. Wilbur Obituary
George P. Wilbur was a Connecticut native who served in the US Navy. Following his release from the Navy, he worked as a wrangler on a ranch near Tucson, Arizona, where he was hired to stand in for John Wayne in the 1966 film El Dorado. Wilbur afterward moved to California where he worked as a stunt double and extra.
In the films Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers and Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Wilbur portrayed Michael Myers. Wilbur was also listed as a stunt performer in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, a different Halloween sequel; however, Don Shanks, an actor, and performer of stunts, performed the part of Michael Myers.
His 40-year stuntman career included more than 100 television and cinema assignments. He was a Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame member.
