Golfer Sam Bennett dad: Who is Mark Bennett?

Mark Bennett was the father of amateur golf champion Sam Bennett.

Mark, who had been a very supportive dad, had died of Alzheimer’s disease in 2021. He was aged 53.

Mark’s final words Don’t wait to do something”, were the last thing he wrote down as an advice to his son in 2020.

The message which is in his handwriting is tattooed on Sam’s left forearm.

Who Is Sam Bennett (Golfer)?

Sam Bennett is an amateur golfer who won the U.S. Amateur championship in 2022, and is currently attending Texas A&M.

Born on December 21, 1999, in Texas, Bennett began playing golf in Madisonville, where he had his High School education and won the 2017 state golf championship.

In 2018, he began playing at Texas A&M, and earned All-American honors as a junior.

In 2021, Bennett went ahead to represent the American team at the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup.

In addition, his first PGA Tour event was during the Valero Texas Open in 2021, and the following year he played in the Arnold Palmer Invitational for the second time.

In 2022, he was awarded SEC Player of the Year and won the U.S. Amateur championship, which earned him exemptions into the 2023 Masters and 2023 Open Championship.

Bennett has earned many amateur wins at “the Cabo Collegiate, the Old Waverly Collegiate, The Aggie Invitational, Sprint International Amateur Championship, Louisiana Classics, U.S. Amateur, and John Burns Intercollegiate.”
