American Grant Nelson plays basketball for the North Dakota State Bison in college. As a freshman, Nelson started five games for NDSU and appeared in all 27 of them.

He was named the Summit League’s sixth man of the year after averaging 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest. As a sophomore, he started every game and put up 11.6 points and 4.9 rebounds.
Early in January 2023, Nelson’s junior season, a highlight video of his performance went viral. Grant had a 17.9 point, 8.9 rebound, and 53.2% field goal percentage during the season as a junior. His first All-Summit First Team and All-Summit Defensive Team recognitions came as a result of these statistics.
