Gretchen Gilliam: Meet Bret Gilliam’s wife

Bret Gilliam is most known for co-founding Technical Diving International (TDI), a certifying organization that transformed diving techniques, along with Mitch Skaggs. At one time in his career, he also held the world record for deep dives while breathing air.

He wrote more than 1500 feature magazine pieces and co-authored 72 books as a result of his love of the aquatic environment. He became one of the most well-known authors in the diving industry when his work appeared on the covers of more than 100 magazines.

Bret logged an incredible 19,000 dives during the course of his diving career, which began in 1959. Over and beyond the ocean’s depths, he had accomplished some truly amazing feats. Through the profitable sales of a number of companies, including Technical Diving International and V. I. Divers Ltd., he amassed a multimillion dollar fortune.
