Gucci Mane was born to Ralph Everette Dudley and Vicky Jean Davis. His father was a former U.S. serviceman and power plant worker while his mother was a social worker and a teacher.

Gucci Mane’s parents met in 1978, however, his mother had a son from another relationship, called Victor Davis. When Gucci Mane was born, his father was on the run from the police for dealing crack cocaine and heroin and had fled to Detroit, Michigan.

Davis’s father was not present to sign the birth certificate, and Davis took his mother’s last name.
Davis moved with his single mother to Atlanta when he was none years old due to family problems in Bessmer. He and his mother moved Davis and Victor to East Atlanta where Gucci Mane attended Cedar Grove Elementary School.
